The General Register Office of Ireland's historical civil registers of birth, marriage and death have been uploaded to the free state-run IrishGenealogy.ie . I do not personally do Irish research but this looks like a very good find.

Genealogy Tip - New Cousins

After you have made contact with a new cousin make sure to contact them a couple times a year. It doesn't have to be anything major - share a little new information on your end and ask if they have had any luck. This reminds them that you are there and of your mutual interest.
