If You Don't Ask You May Never Know!

How many times have you specifically asked your genealogy contacts if they have contact with anyone in the old county? For some reason I asked a new contact that very question yesterday. She said no but I have letters from after WWII from relatives in Germany. I was floored especially that they were from Pomerania. That means there are at least two families in Germany waiting for me to find them. So today I have contacted family contacts of that line here to ask if they know of any contact with family in the old country. I have receiver two positive responses! These are people I have talked genealogy with for over 5 years! So don't assume people will know what you want to know, ASK!
