Waukesha County Genealogical Society Waukesha WI 53187   The purpose of the WCGS is to promote the study of genealogy, provide information on how to carry out a genealogical study, and offer a forum for the members with research problems who are seeking assistance. The Waukesha County Genealogical Society (WCGS) was originally organized in September of 1967 as a group of individuals who met monthly to study genealogy. The group decided to formalize their organization in 1981. A meeting was held in June of 1981 for the election of officers and the formation of a constitution. It was formally adopted in September of 1981 and the organization became known as "The Waukesha County Genealogical Society".   The Waukesha County Genealogical Society (WCGS) was officially dissolved on August 31, 2023, by a membership vote.
