Genealogy Tip - From the Mouth of Babes
Don't give up on our younger generations for continuing our love of family history and genealogy. They just think about it a little differently. I was talking to a millennial about touching a document versus seeing it on the computer. He said "Yes, it is the closest thing we have to time travel." There is hope.

Genealogy Tip - How did they live?
Have you ever wondered about your ancestors everyday life? What the weather was like for them on any given day? Find the closest larger city. You can add this city to your weather app on your telephone or computer to monitor the weather for your family's home village. I personally monitor four cities in Germany - I find it great fun and informative.

Waukesha County Museum Presents Wednesday December 7
The December 7 Waukesha County Genealogy Society will enjoy a presentation by Waukesha County Museum " Waukesha County Pioneers and Early Settlers".
The evening starts with a short business meeting at 6:45 P.M. followed by the presentation at 7:00 P.M. The meeting will be held at Southminster Presbyterian Church (Nelson Hall), 200 Richard St., Waukesha, WI 53189. Please note if Waukesha Public Schools are closed because of inclement weather, WCGS meetings are cancelled.

Genealogy Tip - Holiday Folk Fair Nov 18, 19 and 20
Celebrate the Culture of Water at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Exposition Center on Friday November 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday November 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday November 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Food, Music and Arts from many parts of the world are there for your entertainment. WCGS Meeting Wednesday October 26
The October meeting will be held at Southminster Presbyterian Church (Nelson Hall), 200 Richard Street, Waukesha. The meeting begins at 6:45 pm with a short informative business meeting. Erin Johnston, storyteller, will share " La Corriveau: A Ghost Story with Genealogy Records" and "How many More Miles? A Cross-Country Journey in 1875" at 7:00pm.

The General Register Office of Ireland's historical civil registers of birth, marriage and death have been uploaded to the free state-run IrishGenealogy.ie . I do not personally do Irish research but this looks like a very good find.
